WIÈSE. An oval brooch in 750/°°° yellow gold, forming a solid cartouche centred on a depiction of the Virgin Mary, flanked on either side by an oval sapphire cabochon (9 x 6.4 mm, Ceylon, probably untreated). The motif is surrounded by foliage interspersed with fine baroque pearls (untested, average diameter approx. 5.8 mm).
