Henri François Joseph de Régnier, pseudonym Hugues Vignix (December 28, 1864 in Honfleur, Calvados department; May 23, 1936 in Paris), was a French writer. His poetry is dedicated to antiquity, nature, and melancholic moods. After a Symbolist phase, Régnier was influenced by the Parnassians. He also wrote essays and novels with a cultural pessimism. From 1911 until his death in 1936, he was a member of the Académie française.
