XOCHIPALA TERRACOTTA CONTAINER- ex. CHRISTIE'S Early Preclassic, Ca. 1200 - 900 BC.
A candelero in the form of a stylised cloud throne, with tapering, upturned feet and rectangular sides. A recessed square cavity is set into the top surface. The exterior is covered in burnished brown slip with extensive remains of red pigment.
