An elegant nobleman, most probably a member of the Patrizi family of Tivoli, holds the hand of a child to whom he shows on a painting a river landscape with a man on horseback identifiable as one of their ancestors. This is probably Captain Stanislao Boschi, a leader in Tivoli's militia in the 18th century, from a family originally from Bergamo, who rides facing the Patrizi casino, identifiable by its position in relation to the Aniene river, whose bends with boats and fishermen can be glimpsed in the distance. On the spine of one book is written "Alberanus Morahlibus", on the edge of another "Cap. Boschi", a clear reference to the horseman seen in the painting. The noble Boschi family merged into the Patrizi family over the centuries through marriages. The meaning of the painting, with the iconographic references and the inscriptions mentioned above, would like to testify to this union between the two families. The adult man standing shows the child pointing at one of their ancestors. The Pacifici in the foreground has a powdered wig with a slight crapaud that falls over his right shoulder. He dresses in a slightly flared juxtaposition with small puffed engangeantes at the sleeves and a waistcoat underneath with arabesque motifs, typical of the emerging Rococo. Close-fitting knee-length culottes with webbing complete his dress. He wears shoes with a square brass buckle. Behind him, a thick drape with a circular temple, perhaps the Temple of Vesta, can be glimpsed on his left.
The young man held by the hand, also a Patrician, wears a brown habit held at the belt by a dark rope.
