ZAPLER-UHR, MOTHER-OF-PEARL GRANDFATHER CLOCK, VIENNA CIRCA 1850 Rare Zapler-uhr clock made of mother-of-pearl. The temple-like structure stands on a windowed, ashlar-engraved plinth base, supported by small bulbous feet. Beyond the two tiers of stepped plinths, one reaches the temple proper, colonnaded and adorned with a rich pediment embellished with acroteria with plant volutes. Small dial set in the 'temple' with Roman numerals for the hours, steel pear-shaped hands, silvered cow's tail pendulum set in the front. Winding key present, clock currently in working order.
