Numerous species of monkeys are shown, but also the dodo, the recently discovered platypus, crocodiles, marine mammals, but also some curiosities such as a freshly hatched ostrich etc. - The drawings were often based on specimens from Blumenbach's own natural history collection, including the only specimen of a platypus found in continental Europe at the time. - Foxing, margins minimally browned with slight losses.
