Two Frankfurt plates with Chinoiserie faience. Paste blue glaze. Full-area cobalt blue decoration in the traditional Chinese "Kraak" style consisting of a large main scene in a mirror, surrounded by radially arranged fields, alternating with Chinese figures and ornaments. The underside sparsely decorated with radial lines, stars and circular motifs. Glaze chipped on the rim; one plate defective. Blue line mark on one plate (cf. Graesse, p. 78, no. 123). D. 34.8 cm-41 cm.
