TWO-PIECE AMBER CUTLERY SET WITH KNIFE AND FORK
Probably Königsberg or Danzig, mid 17th century.
Handles carved in full relief as figures of a man with a rifle and a woman with a fan in clear amber, the faces and hands in bone amber. Dressed in the costume of their time. Pointed blade with forge marks on the cutting side, the bolster bulging, partly decorated with raised rosettes and stars and with remnants of gilding. Fork with two tines, fork head jointed and with remnants of gilding.
L Knife 17 cm, fork 16 cm.
Blade partially corroded, lady's hand broken off (present), cracks and missing parts on the amber.
