CYLINDERBUREAU Louis XVI style, Paris circa 1860, signed on plaque P. Sormani Paris 10 r. Charlot (Paul Sormani, 1817-1877). Mahogany. Rectangular body with wavy cut-out frame with fluted column legs. Pull-out lamella cylinder and pull-out leaf covered with blue, gold-pressed leather, with a central drawer underneath. Interior partition with a large compartment, with two side-by-side drawers below. Set back top, set in an openwork brass gallery, with two side-by-side drawers. Fine, gilt bronze mounts and sabots and brass channelling. 102.5 × 74.5 × 49.5 cm Good restored condition, scratches on the roll top. Provenance: Private property in western Switzerland.
