The young woman in our miniature is dressed in Directoire fashion, like Thérésa Tallien, Juliette Récamier and Joséphine de Beauharnais..., 'The last time I saw [Madame Tallien], this marvel wore a simple dress of muslin from India, draped in the antique style and fastened over the shoulders with two cameos.
