Ottomeyer, Invention & Vollendung (2016), cat. no. 7 A similar Böttger stoneware coffee pot and cover retaining the black-painted Japanese Palace inventory number 222 was sold by Bonhams London, 20 March 2013, lot 1; another (possibly the same coffee pot) was sold from the Saxon Royal Collections by Rudolph Lepke's auction house, 7-8 October 1919, lot 3. The 1770 inventory of the Japanese Palace records eleven such coffee pots of which three had damaged covers. One remains in the Dresden porcelain collection (inv. no.PE 2482).
