Veritable capsule temporelle, conservee par une jeune femme prenommee Jacqueline, ce colis de Noel 1944, envoye au soldat William M. Ball de Knox dans le Tennessee, ASN 34504939, de la 610th Engineer Light Equipment Company / 1171st Engineer Combat Group dans lequel elle a conserve souvenirs, emballages de rations, de chewing gums, cadeaux faits par les soldats americains. Certains emballages portent le prenom Paul, un petit cube de bois est inscrit Tom Gre et Jacqueline avec un cœur transperce d une fleche, coupure de journal sur la liberation de Liege. Au total 34 pieces, pocket guide France, emballages vides de rations K et D, emballages et etiquettes de chocolat, chewing gum, jus de citron, dentifrice, saumon, fruits et un sachet de valves de chambres a air. Le 610e etait rattache a la 4e SignalCo, 4e division d infanterie puis a la 101st Airborne, ils ont debarque en Normandie, le 6 juin 1944. A true time capsule, this 1944 Christmas parcel was kept by a young woman named Jacqueline and originally sent to Private William M. Ball from Knox, Tennessee, ASN 34504939, of the 610th Engineer Light Equipment Company / 1171st Engineer Combat Group. Inside, she carefully preserved various mementos, ration wrappers, chewing gum packaging, and small gifts made by American soldiers. Some wrappers are marked with the name Paul, and a small wooden cube is inscribed with Tom Gre and Jacqueline alongside a heart pierced by an arrow. Included is a newspaper clipping reporting the liberation of Liege. The parcel contains a total of 34 items a Pocket Guide to France, empty K and D ration wrappers, chocolate, chewing gum, lemon juice, toothpaste, salmon, fruit packaging, and a small bag of inner tube valve caps. The 610th was attached to the 4th Signal Company of the 4th Infantry Division, and later to the 101st Airborne. They landed in Normandy on June 6, 1944.
