Known and documented history, rebuilt engine, incredible colour combination: perhaps one of the most desirable SMs on the market... - Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1970, the SM, for Project S Maserati, was striking for its innovative design by Robert Opron. Its taut lines gave the SM a unique dynamism. Its excellent Cx of 0.46 was the result of extensive work in the wind tunnel, which dictated its overall appearance. - Taking advantage of Citroën's takeover of Maserati in 1968, the SM's bonnet was fitted with an all-new twin-shaft V6 engine marked with the trident and with a displacement of 2,670 cm3, first in carburettor version, then in fuel injection version. - With the same hydropneumatic suspension as the DS, it retained the comfort that was so dear to Citroën, and the new Diravi steering with servo-assisted return enabled it to maintain high speeds with the greatest of ease. Only 12,920 examples were sold over the five years of production. Today, SMs are increasingly sought-after and are enjoying a revival of interest.
