2 CV A, first registered in May 1953, registration 230-BL-10, collector's registration, 6 volts, serial number 55760, 58,432 km on the clock (original odometer), could be a 3rd hand. Purchased in 1990 by the current owner, restored in 97. According to the owner, this 2CV belonged to a garage owner in Palis, (Aube) who bought it new and sold it, a year later, to his uncle, a roadmender by profession, who travelled a few kilometres around his village in the Aube. According to the current owner, this car is a 3rd hand car: a claim that could be corroborated by the serial number. The engine was overhauled in 2005 (rocker arm, valves). The car is fitted with a new 22 ZACI carburettor. The metal fan has 4 blades. Note that the triangular coil is consistent with the vintage. Very well maintained, this rare model, with its interesting history, has benefited from numerous maintenance works. In 1997, the owner reported that the car had been treated for corrosion and that the braking system had been rebuilt. A new battery was fitted in 2024. Regular maintenance to this day. The two bench seats are upholstered as new, with predominantly blue tartan fabric and cross stitching. The only departure from the original is that the door trim is made of the same fabric as the seats, instead of the original houndstooth fabric. The grey canvas soft top with small window is long and extends as far as the rear skirt. The bodywork is in good condition and comes in dark grey AC 118, whereas earlier models (before October 1952) were delivered with AC 109 paint. The wheels are fitted with old Michelin Pilote 125-400 tyres. Refurbishment of the right front wing in 2023 The ED tachometer and the single cardboard sun visor are in order. The boot still retains its "max luggage 50 kg" paintwork, spare tyre, wooden chock, jack and original cranks. Of particular note is a rare period demisting accessory that clips onto the base of the windscreen, connected by a flexible sheath to the hot air intake on the dashboard. The 2 CV A has become a rare model in its original configuration. This was a transitional model that lasted about two months, between May and June '53, when the stamped doors and bonnet without the oval around the chevrons appeared. This rare example retains virtually all the features of the first 2CVs (see expert's report), with its 375cc engine, mechanically welded doors, bonnet with chevrons in the oval on the radiator grille, straight and folded front wing liners, etc. The removable ventilation accessory is a plus.
