'Our Lady of Sorrows'
Painted glass. Accompanied by its original imposing cornucopia in carved and gilded wood.
58 x 46 cm.
Cornucopia's measurement: 86 x 76 cm.
Our painting follows the model of Murillo’s 'Our Lady of Sorrows', dated between 1660 and 1670, oil on canvas, measuring 52 x 41 cm, part of the collection of the Museo del Prado (inv. P000977).
It bears, inscribed in red, the collection number 53234. There are visible restorations to the glass surface.
This work appeared reproduced in a publication (no longer preserved) devoted to a painting collection, issued in 1874 by the 'Establecimientos Tipográficos de N. Ramírez y Compañía'. In that publication, it was listed as a work by Murillo, according to information provided by the family.
On the reverse:
- Handwritten annotations “Vda Romero” (twice), “caja 225-A,” and stamped number “122SB.”
- Label from the Ministerio de Educación Nacional Servicio de Defensa del Patrimonio Artístico Nacional, indicating that it was photographed on 12/12/40. A date corresponding to its deposit by the former owners with the Generalitat of Catalonia.

Private collection, Barcelona, by descent from the 1950s to the present day.
