Black glazed terracotta, red reserve and pigment H. 32.4 cm Magna Graecia, Apulia, circa 330-310 BC Provenance Private collection, Toulouse, Acquired on 6 May 1982, Numifrance Art Antique, Avenue Général de Gaulle. Thonon. France. The body decorated on each side. Side A: in a bucolic setting, a woman dressed in a chiton is seated to the left, holding an ear of wheat. In front of her, a naked young man, crowned with laurel and draped in a cloak over his arms, holds a phiale and a sceptre ending in a long flower. Side B: two draped men face each other, leaning on sticks. Palmettes under the handles. Very well preserved. Attributed to the Underworld Painter. A Red-figure bell-krater. Apulia, circa 330-310 B.C.
