First edition of this hymn to gastronomy. An extremely important work on the subject, which has not been surpassed or even equalled since. It is packed with anecdotes, aphorisms and ingenious remarks.
First edition, 500 copies, distinguished by a reversed E to the word Bourse on the title page of volume I.
Some scattered pale spotting, otherwise a very good copy. The spines have probably been re-stained.
