German Geistlich paratrooper's helmet and accessories, comprising a metal M38 model paratrooper's helmet, the maker and size markings having become illegible. The three-tone green/sand/ochre camouflage paint is approximately 70% preserved, applied using a sweeping technique. The headdress is complete but badly degraded, and the chinstrap, although present, is very fragile. The set also includes a booklet entitled Deutscher Luftwaffen Kalender 1944, in poor condition, bearing the name Karl Geistlich, with numerous handwritten annotations, notably to the month of December 1944. A cartridge belt for Mauser 98K in black grained leather, complete but with dry leather, made by Lemercier 1943, is also present, marked with the name of Geistlich. Very nice set attributed to a German paratrooper who took part in the Battle of the Bulge. Characteristic wear and patina. Condition II+. A black pebbled leather Mauser 98K ammo pouch, dry but complete, marked Lemercier 1943, is also included and named to Geistlich. A fine attributed grouping belonging to a German paratrooper who took part in the Battle of the Bulge. The set shows characteristic wear and period patina. Condition II+.
