EARLY GREEK/ BRONZE AGE MACE HEAD WITH FIGURES.
Ca. 900 - 800 BC. A cylindrical bronze mace head cast in the round with a continuous frieze in low relief, depicting male figures in procession, each shown striding with arms raised. The upper shaft rises to a flat rim. Mounted on a modern base. Size: 170mm x 40mm; Weight: 375g Provenance: Private London collection, acquired on the French art market, 1970s.
