EGYPTIAN, AMARNA PERIOD LIMESTONE RELIEF. Amarna Period, Ca. 1353 - 1336 BC. A fragment of limestone relief, preserving the profile of a royal figure facing right. The head is elongated in typical Amarna style, with a prominent jawline and slender neck. The figure wears a blue-painted close-fitting cap crown. Traces of red pigment remain across the face. Size: 330mm x 195mm; Weight: 3.27kg Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex. Rupert Wace, 2008. Published: Guenter Roeder: "Amarna-Reliefs Aus Hermopolis", 1969, Tafel 185. This piece is accompanied by an authentication report from Simone Musso, consultant curator for Egyptian antiquities at the Stibbert Museum, Florence, Italy, member of the Nuri Archaeological Expedition.
