EGYPTIAN BLACK-TOPPED POTTERY JAR. Predynastic Period, Ca. 4000 - 3000 BC. A black-topped pottery jar with a rounded body tapering towards a flat base and a short neck with a slightly flared rim. The surface is burnished, with a reddish lower portion and a darkened upper section.
