EGYPTIAN BRONZE SITULA - EX. CHRISTIE'S. Ptolemaic Period, Ca. 332 - 30 BC. A bronze situla with a long ovoid body and rounded rim. The central register shows a standing dedicant making an offering of a lotus flower before an ithyphallic Amun, followed by Ptah and Sekhmet. Above, two solar barques are depicted, while the lower register presents a winged scarab adored by the three Souls of Pe and Buto. The vessel terminates in a lotiform base and is fitted with twin suspension loops and a later curved loop handle.
