EGYPTIAN HIGH KARAT GOLD SCARAB. Late Period, 400 - 200 BC. A stylised gold scarab with a flat, rounded body and a raised head with two small circular indentations for eyes. A row of stamped triangles borders the pronotum, while the elytra are adorned with a central column of incised chevrons flanked by curved wing cases.
