Chinese bronze censer "shoulao and deer". This is a bronze statue of an elderly man riding a deer. The figure represents shou lao (shou xing), the Chinese god of longevity, who is often depicted with a long beard, high forehead and holding a stick or peach. The deer is a common symbol of immortality and prosperity in Chinese culture, often associated with longevity and good fortune. 19th/20th century. H: 20 cm W: 21 cm. One antler is broken.
