Lot no. 35
Four "figurative" Chinese porcelain dishes of the famille rose. This is a beautifully painted Chinese porcelain plate depicting a traditional scene with two elegantly dressed women in an architectural setting. The artwork depicts a woman standing outside, holding a red flower, and conversing with another woman inside a pavilion-like structure. The figures are dressed in flowing, colourful gowns with intricate detailing, reminiscent of the classical clothing of the Chinese court or nobility. The background includes a staircase, an intricately patterned balustrade and a canopy-like structure, which add depth and perspective to the composition. The scene is surrounded by bright floral motifs on the rim of the plate, with red, yellow and blue flowers, as well as delicate motifs along the edge. The outside is decorated with four floral sprays in iron red. Qian-long period. 18th century. D : 22,3 cm.
