First edition of this fundamental work on the geology of the Mont Blanc massif. Rarely complete, the atlas comprises 32 plates numbered I to XXIX and A to C. Scattered brown spots, rare except on plate XXIX, and wetness on plates A to C. Alphonse Favre (Geneva, 1815-1890) was a great geologist who studied the structure of the Alps for some thirty years.
