"Oil on canvas 130 x 200 cm signed lower right and on the back: titled, dated 1994 and signed.
This is a painter whose itinerary is very particular. For him, creation is a predominant preoccupation.
Born into a family of interior designers, he began working at the age of 14, while painting in secret in the manner of an artist from the former Soviet Union.
Following in his parents' footsteps, he worked in Saint-Ouen, with dealers and private individuals who entrusted him with the interior architecture of their flats. He developed a real passion for art and became a recognised art lover. His collaboration with dealers and interior designers is certainly a testament to his talent.
In 1989, at the Galerie Garig BASMADJIAN, he met Mikhaïl BRUSSILOVSKY. It was an aesthetic and emotional shock to see his work, and he bought two paintings and a sculpture of his partner Valentina BRUSILOSKAYA. This event became a kind of catalyst for Liu PARK. This relationship encouraged him in his desire to paint.
Another turning point in his thinking came in 1990, when he began to experiment timidly in his late teens, and then developed his own way of painting.
In 1992, he befriended the visual artist Henri ENU, one of the founders of the counter-culture, internationally renowned for his surmodernism. This movement was born in the 1980s, and since 1990 has included artists such as Florence Roqueplot, Lily Tournet, Jean-François Boury, Charles Dreyfus and Marc Questin, with whom he regularly exhibits. "Petit Résistance" is the pseudonym given to him by Henri ENU, with whom he not only exchanges ideas, but also learns more about the practice.
In 1993, he exhibited at a number of Parisian art fairs. His paintings and sculptures were much appreciated. Painting became an increasingly important part of his life, and his works now stand alongside those of the great masters.
In the same year, he began making wrought-iron furniture and a number of brutalist sculptures - work that was much appreciated by decorators. Liu-park receives several commissions from this worker, each model of which is unique
<< A non-figurative painting of pure invention to express his inner world, but without using objects from the real world>>.
"If I choose the non-figurative world, it's because I believe it's larger than the other. I think there's more to discover about the unknown. I don't think the opposite is true.
The decision to break away from the visible world also marked the end of his apprenticeship and plunged Liu Park into the heart of current trends, committing his work to modernity. Liu Park is interested in the process of the degeneration of art as an essential moment in culture.
Liu Park exhibited several times with his close friends Didier Jouvin, Henry Enu, Gilles Naja and Kaplan.
The same year he met Jean Marie Cusinberche and Georges Mathieu.
He rubbed shoulders with the artists Kijno, de Boissy, Bailly Coulange, Gérard Sendrey and Christian Grisoni, with whom he shared similarities.
In 1996, while exhibiting at the Parc Floral de Vincennes, a fire destroyed his warehouse. He lost all his paintings (his own and those of the great masters he had acquired). Working tirelessly for clients and decorators to get back on his feet, and with an unusual level of physical strength, he maintained a very busy lifestyle. During the day, he continued to attend exhibitions, and at night, he painted until two or three in the morning. In this respect, he is similar to Marcel BURTIN, a friend of Édouard PIGNON and Pablo PICASSO, who earns a living by day and picks up his pencil or brush in the evening, sleeping for just a few hours.
It was not until 2000 that his situation changed. He took over the salons in Paris, Marseille, Toulouse, Belgium and Luxembourg.
In 2003, he took stock of his life as an artist - he was looking for a form of truth in his work. He began to use soft, silky colours - or sometimes quite violent ones.
With his collector friends, he exchanged paintings by great masters such as Jean-Louis FORAIN, Maurice UTRILLO and MODIGLIANI. Some of these works found their way into private collections.
That same year, he joined the international Surmodernist group.
In 2007, he became a friend of the painter Thierry CHAUVEL and the artist's mother, who left him the interior of her flat on her death.
In 2008, he bought an old farmhouse in Gironde, which he renovated to devote himself to his own work.
He set up a large studio in the farmhouse, where he was regularly visited by his friends and family.
