Figure group "Allegory of Hope" Rocaille-shaped, open-worked, gilt bronze base, partly in relief with foliage. A seated young lady in an antique-style robe with a drapery rich in folds and patterned with Indian flowers on a raised rocaille-like framed plinth with applied flowers and leaves. A dove sitting on her right hand, holding a large anchor in her left as a symbol of hope. Polychrome painting with gold staffage. Designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler, 1750. Minimally dam.; rest of the body unmarked; crossed swords mark. Total h. 21 cm.
