FINE EASTERN GREEK POTTERY LYDION. Ca. second half of the 6th century BC. A terracotta lydion with a spherical body tapering gently into a pedestal foot, a concave neck, and a wide, flared rim with a flat lip. The surface is decorated with a broad, central black register on the body, flanked by groups of fine linear bands encircling the shoulder and lower body. The neck and foot are covered in black glaze, while the interior of the mouth and upper rim are embellished with concentric reserved rings.
