Some rubbing and wear to some headpieces and hinges. The interior of the books generally shows some foxing, light rings and browned sections. Other defects are indicated in the description of each work. A very rare collection of this important group of works by Robert Fludd (1574 -1637), a physician, physicist, philosopher and mystic who explored many areas of knowledge, including alchemy, musicology, astrology and occultism. He took up the defence of the Rosicrucians, who were violently attacked, in an anonymous work that is included in our collection. The first volume, entitled Utriusque Cosmi Maioris scilicet et minoris metaphysica, physica atque technica Historia... constitutes the first edition of this "very rare and much sought-after treatise on the Macrocosm of Robert Fludd with many very beautiful and curious engravings by Jean Théodore de Bry", according to Caillet, who also gives several comments and references relating to this author.
