An interesting lot comprising the first Italian edition of De Thou's renowned Latin poem on falconry; a curious Vicentine poem on quail hunting which combines an interest in hunting and the literary affectedness of the seventeenth century; Pisanelli's Trattato, a classic of sixteenth-century dietetics; Zanon's early advocacy of potatoes as a means to combat famine in Italy; and finally, Hales' guide presenting innovative techniques for desalinating seawater and preserving food aboard naval fleets.
