LARGE GREEK HIGH KARAT GOLD PENDANT WITH SUN MOTIF. Ca. 800 - 600 BC. A circular gold sheet pendant worked in chased and repoussé technique, centred on a prominent raised omphalos encircled by a narrow plain band. Radiating from the omphalos are thirteen evenly spaced triangular rays, each flanked by a raised boss, forming a structured solar pattern. The composition is enclosed by a triple dotted border, culminating in a raised outer edge. A small suspension tab projects from the upper edge.
