LARGE ROMAN BRONZE OIL LAMP WITH MASK HANDLE. Ca. AD 100 - 200. A bronze oil lamp with a drop-shaped body supported by a square plinth standing on four claw feet. The recessed tondo has a circular filling hole, and the spout is long and pointed, flanked by two projecting volutes emerging from stylised floral motifs at the point where the body begins to taper. The arched handle terminates in a cast male mask framed by an elaborate radiate leaf border.
