LATE ROMAN BRONZE OIL LAMP WITH DECORATED HANDLE AND STAND. Ca. AD 300 - 400 . A bronze oil lamp mounted on a tall stand with a flat circular tray and a broad tripod base. The stand is composed of a columnar shaft with raised collars at intervals. The lamp has an elongated oval body with a rounded spout and central filling hole, and is fitted with an elaborate openwork handle formed of scrolling volutes and curving tendrils.
