MAGNIFICENT CELTIC SET OF SOLID HIGH KARAT GOLD TORC AND BRACELET WITH ENGRAVED DECORATION.
Ca. 300 - 100 BC. A rare and exceptional gold set comprising a torc and bracelet, both crafted from solid gold and intricately engraved with dynamic curvilinear ornaments. The torc is flat in section and gently tapers towards the terminals, with a continuous frieze of scrollwork filled with fine cross-hatched detailing, alternating with plain polished gold. The bracelet, more rounded in form, bears a similarly incised pattern of flowing tendrils enclosing hatched and plain fields. For similar see: S.
