Oni SHUGYO (XXth)
Kaizuka Hiroshi - Weekly Shonen Sunday - 1976
Fantastic original plate, Indian ink and black and red paint.
The aim was to make Japan's national sport, Sumo, even more popular. In 1976, at the height of the mecha era, Kaizuka set about putting into manga the true story of the legend of the sport, the Yokozuna (the highest rank in sumo): Takanohana, who is a legend in Japan. For this work, Kaizuka opted for both black and white and two-tone black and red, making the scenery truly exceptional. These never-before-seen plates are treasures not to be missed, so beautiful and representative of the history of manga at its best.
