Austria Sandmann, Franz Souvenir de Vienne. Album with 13 lithographs of Vienna by Wilhelm Mayer, Franz Sandmann and Karl Waage. Vienna, Artaria & Comp, (around 1850) No copy traceable for us in international trade. Very rare album with thirteen lithographs of Vienna from the 19th century. The lithographs were made after daguerreotypes and drawings by the French artist Nicolas-Marie-Joseph Chapuy (1790-1858) and show street scenes, important buildings and sights of Vienna, especially in the historic centre, in the area of the Hofburg (the former imperial main residence of the Habsburgs) and in Schönbrunn (the summer residence of the Habsburg dynasty). 1. inner city from the side of the Burgthor (today: Outer Burgtor) 2. k. k. The lithographs are made after daguerreotypes, and drawings by the French artist, Nicolas-Marie-Joseph Chapuy (1790-1858) and show street scenes, important buildings, and sights of Vienna, mainly in the old town, in the area of the Hofburg (the former principal imperial palace of the Habsburg dynasty) and at Schönbrunn (the summer residence of the Habsburg dynasty). This lot is taxed.
