Pair of figure candlesticks with "Violin Player" and "Dancing Tyrolean Woman" by Meissen
on gilt bronze mounts. 2-light; open-worked base supported by large volutes in relief. Ascending leaf tendrils on the back, ending in two flower-shaped spouts on the sides. On the front, a standing violinist playing music in purple knee breeches and jacket over a white shirt, or a Tyrolean woman standing in a dancing posture with a flower-patterned skirt, pale yellow apron with sculptural flowers, black bodice and purple bow hat. Polychrome painting with gold staffage. Designed by Johann Joachim Kaendler. Unw. dam./rest.; total h. 20.5 cm.
