PARTHIAN SILVER PHALERA WITH GORGON. Ca. 200 - 100 BC. A circular silver phalera with a slightly concave surface, centring on a separately applied medallion bearing a high-relief gorgoneion. The face is framed by curling locks radiating outward from the forehead, with deeply set eyes, arched brows, and a defined mouth. The medallion is enclosed within a narrow concentric band, decorated with four evenly spaced spheres. The outer field is decorated with a lightly incised zigzag border.
