Belgian trench dagger. Made from an English-made M1889 Belgian bayonet blade, marked Sanderson Brothers Sheffield, re-pointed and double-edged. Protective shell. Strong one-piece wooden handle. With its sheet metal scabbard, folded back edge forming a flat with 2 holes for a suspension lace, the latter often missing. Wear from use, patina. Belgian Trench DaggerMade from a Belgian M1889 bayonet blade manufactured in England by Sanderson Brothers, Sheffield. The blade has been shortened and double-edged. Fitted with a guard and solid one-piece wooden grip. Accompanied by its metal scabbard with rear folded edge forming a flat section pierced with two holes for suspension laces, now missing as often.
