Lot no. 7
Four Famille Rose Chinese porcelain dishes with floral motifs. These are Chinese porcelain plates beautifully decorated with an intricate hand-painted design in vibrant shades of iron red, blue, green and gold. The central motif depicts a lotus and an arrangement of antiques with detailed flowers, symbolising wealth and prosperity in Chinese culture. The outer rim is decorated with elaborate swirling patterns, stylised flowers and ornamental motifs, recalling the traditional style of 'imari' or 'Chinese export' porcelain, which was highly prized in Chinese and European markets. The rich use of iron red and cobalt blue, and the delicacy of the brushwork, suggest a piece influenced by Qing dynasty porcelain or inspired by the decorative aesthetics of the 17th and 18th centuries. Yongzheng, 18th century. D: 22 cm. One dish is chipped.
