RARE EGYPTIAN PAINTED TERRACOTTA FERTILITY FIGURE. Middle Kingdom, 13th Dynasty, Ca. 1803 - 1649 BC. A painted terracotta figure depicting a standing female with elongated proportions. The face is framed by a thick wig painted in alternating black, white and red stripes. The torso is decorated with a regular arrangement of painted dots, and both arms extend straight down alongside the body. The reverse is plain. Size: 140mm x 30mm; Weight: 50g Provenance: Prince collection, 1990s-2014; Ex. Rupert Wace. This item has been cleared against the Art Loss Register database and comes with a confirmation letter.
