Lot no. 612 - B
ROMAN MARBLE HEAD OF JUNO. Ca. AD 100 - 300. A Roman marble head of the goddess Juno, carved from fine-grained marble and inspired by late Classical Greek prototypes. The idealised features include a high forehead, almond-shaped eyes, and a small, composed mouth set in an expression of serene majesty. The hair is centrally parted and swept back in thick, wavy strands, originally arranged in a diadem. Likely part of a larger cult or decorative statue, the head reflects the imperial taste for Hellenising deities.
