Kronstädter Drucke 1535-1886, 991 and 956 - Wurzbach XIX (1868), p. 462 (Munteanu). - Not in Zaunmüller. - Of great rarity, currently not traceable for us in the trade and at auctions. - The dictionary compiled by Gavril Munteanu (1812-69), Romanist, Romanianist, lexicographer, grammarian, translator and founding director of the Kronstadt Gymnasium (1851), together with George Baritz, who also translated Schiller into Romanian, among others, and provided with a preface, is one of the most comprehensive of its time and served in particular to promote understanding between the long-established Transylvanian Saxons and the up-and-coming Romanian educated bourgeoisie in Transylvanian cities such as Kronstadt. - Binding bumped at the corners and edges, spine somewhat rubbed, binding broken at the front joint, book block slightly foxed in places. - Endpapers with older owner's inscriptions throughout.
