STATUETTE OF SEKHMET Bronze with green patina. H. 23 cm Egypt, Late Period, 664-525 BC Provenance Former French collection from 1960-1980, acquired orally at Hôtel Drouot By inheritance With Me Challot, 21/08/2021 The goddess is shown seated in human form with the head of a lioness. She is wearing a tripartite wig with stripes, revealing part of her luxuriant mane. Her head is surmounted by the uraeus. Bare-chested, she is dressed in a loincloth with finely incised folds. Bracelets adorn her arms. The incisions on the face, headdress and uraeus are still in an exceptional state of preservation. An Egyptian bronze statuette of Sekhmet. 664-525 B.C.
