STATUETTE OF OSIRIS Bronze with dark patina H. 20.3 cm Egypt, Saite period, Dynasty XXVI, 664-525 BC Provenance Collection of Mr R.F., acquired in 1976 from the Galerie Moreau in Toulouse. The god is shown standing in his mummiform sheath. His hands crossed at chest level, he is holding a sceptre and a whip. His finely detailed face is adorned with a false beard. His headdress, the atef crown, also features details that reflect the quality of this bronze. Missing headdress (visible), accident and restoration to the lower part of the body. Patina and concretions. An Egyptian Bronze Osiris figure. Saite period, ca. 664-525 B.C.
