This triptych comes from a series of triptychs depicting beauties in places around Tatsumi's pleasure district in Fukagawa, Edo. Each triptych is titled in the form of a rebus indicating the exact location and the name of a well-known woman in the district. The title of this triptych reads "arrow, warehouse, tongue" and "six shells", which can be read phonetically as Yagurashita Mukai, referring to a woman named Mukai in the Yagurashita district, near the Hachiman temple in Fukagawa.
