VIKING SILVER MEDALLION WITH FAFNIR. Ca. AD 800 - 1100. A silver medallion with a depiction of Dragon Fafnir. The medallion is circular with a raised border enclosing the depiction of the beast, its body consisting of interwoven, sinuous lines filled with rows of small raised dots. Its head is turned backwards with an open mouth. A suspension loop is positioned at the top for attachment.
